The Covid-19 pandemic to vulnerable households from the schools under the feeding program. Schools closed earlier due to Covid 19 pandemic in the month of March, 2020, this meant that children could no longer access food in school as before.
A Total of 459 bags of maize and 234 bags of beans (90 kgs per bag) has been distributed to 1,446 vulnerable households representing the 37 primary schools under the project during this Covid-19 season. The
exercise sought to give hope and encourage students from poor families and reduce movement in search of casual labor so that they would concentrate on their studies.
Having food at home has helped to curb the chances of contracting Covid-19 as a result of reduced movement, hence relieving parents the burden of looking for food.
