Emergency Drought Response

Emergency Drought response to 100 vulnerable Households in Bondeni and Kalkacha Communities. Tana River County.

Food baskets were distributed to 100 vulnerable households for two months, the project addressed the adverse effects of the drought through distribution of food baskets as well as support in logistics and delivery of the food baskets to the two target areas.

The project also included the donation and distribution of Solar lamps to support the vulnerable girls and CSENs to learn/study at night at the comfort of their homes.

Tharaka Covid-19 Relief

Food was distributed and awareness creation made on the Covid-19 pandemic to vulnerable households from the schools under the feeding program. Schools closed earlier due to Covid 19 pandemic in the month of March, 2020, this meant that children could no longer access food in school as before. A Total of 459 bags of maize and 234 bags of beans (90 kgs per bag) has been distributed to 1,446 vulnerable households representing the 37 primary schools under the project during this Covid-19 season.

Food Basket / Relief food

Linas Matkasse supported 80 vulnerable families with food items on a monthly basis for 2 years in Tharaka. The families who were PLWAS formed an organized group as a support system. The project also supported vulnerable families in Kibera slums of Nairobi and also Rhonda & london areas of Nakuru.
