Senior Management Team (SMT)

Mary Githiomi

Country Director

Mary is the IAS K team leader, in charge of day to day operations of IAS K programme. She joined IAS K in the capacity of Country Director in 2015. She is also the Secretary to the Board, the go between the staff, management and the Board of Governors. She Chairs the Senior Management Team that runs the daily operation of the organization.
 She has over 20 years’ experience in Relief and Development sphere, and has worked in different countries. Mary brings wealth of experience in Management, Administration, leadership, programs and Human Resource Management.
She is a strong negotiator, focused on service delivery, and very passionate about the program she leads. Above all, she believes that God has a purpose for every single human being, and hers is to serve diligently, and with a focus to deliver the Mission of IAS-K

Stephen Mwaura

SMT Member

Stephen is a teacher by profession, and an expert in Inclusive Education. He  has  widely traveled, participating  in various conferences all over the globe. 
He has good pedagogical skills, and expertise in education, with special focus on children and youth facing barriers to learning, and others who are most vulnerable to stigmatization, marginalization and exclusion, both socially and educationally.
Stephen brings to IAS Kenya vast experience in education management, leadership and strong organizational skills. He is a model of self-discipline, integrity, versatility and  a team player. He has management and leadership skills, respect for diversity, respect for authority and ability to operate independently, regardless of structures and supervision.
He believes that there is power in education and knowing the word of God. The combination of the two is a lethal weapon, that fights poverty, and a game changer to human dignity.

Margaret Nderitu

Human Resource Manager / Administrator

Margaret possess strong organizational and administrative skills, with professional discretion and integrity. She greatly values teamwork, communication and equity, and is a champion for employee wellness, organization agility and the future of work. 
She believes that employees are the greatest assets for the organization, and must be empowered to deliver. Her social skills embodies a lifelong open-ended learning of new skills and new knowledge, that can be harnessed to improve teamwork, resulting to excellence.

Jonah Cherutich

Programme's Manager

Jonah has experiential knowledge of governance, having served as a manager for over two years at the County Government of Kakamega, and 10 years as a manager at World Vision International Kenya.
He has previously worked as Part-Time Lecturer at Moi University, and Kenya Institute of Management, tutoring on leadership and developmental studies.
He brings in strong managerial, effective leadership, and in-depth knowledge and experience on program & project management. 
He believes that properly run projects, have the highest impact in the communities served, and brings trust to all the stakeholders, upholding the good name IAS-K has had, over the years.

Ishmael Kulu

SMT Member

Ishmael is one of the co-opted members to the SMT for IAS K. He brings a vast experience of leadership. Being one of the longest serving staff that have been working with the organization for over 20 years, He understands  the vision, mission, status and the direction of the organization and he contributes much as per the TOR of the SMT.

Edward Ochenge

Finance Manager

Edward is a Certified Public Accountant. He has worked for several Non-Governmental Organizations and most recently as the Chief Operating Officer at Nuru International Kenya.
He has 16 years’ experience in Procurement, Human Resource, Tax administration, Finance and Accounting functions in the service industry and NGO sector.
He is our Finance Manager and also the IE regional Financial Controller, overseeing the project in four East African Countries.
Edward is a result-oriented, value minded, professional, dynamic and intrinsically motivated and self-driven individual.

Board of Governance

Rose Kimani

Board Chair

Rose is a passionate visionary Leader, who has a great strengths in Mentoring and coaching. She is a seasoned Microfinance banker with over 25 years’ experience in asset and liability growth, as well as quality management. Currently serving as the Head of Retail Banking and Bancassurance in a local Bank

She has served in several Boards, including  Church, school, Sacco and now currently serving as the board Chair of IAS board. She has served in several Leadership roles in the Church, currently serving in premarital counselling and young Ladies Ministry.

She holds a Master’s degree in Social Dynamics, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Rose has been certified by the Frankfurt Business school on SME lending, and attended Executive Leadership Trainings from Daystar and Strathmore University. 

She is one of the privileged few, who have won the prestigious award in Banking: The Life Achievement Award in Banking.

John Kuria

Board Treasurer

John Kamau has been a partner of IAS K for over 13years. He holds Christian values, loves serving God and
lives Christian life in all its fullness. He is honest and dependable. Having been in accounting and finance for
over 20years, he brings wealth of experience in accounting, finance and leadership in management of Donor
funds.

John Magangi

Board Member

John Magangi has been a partner with IAS K for over 15 years, both at individual and at institutional levels. He holds Christian values highly which the organization ascribes to.

He is a person of integrity, honesty and loves helping people, especially the underprivileged. He brings wealth of experience from church perspective and loves serving God"

He is a Pastor with development background and interests, and has served with IAS globally especially in Training of Pastors in South Sudan.

Joy Midivo

Board Member

Joy Mdivo is an advocate of the high court of Kenya of 18 years standing. She is the Executive Director of the East Africa Centre for Law and Justice, EACLJ. A position she has held for the last 10 years.

Previously Joy Mdivo was the Executive Director of the Christian Legal Education Aid and Research, CLEAR Kenya, the Legal Aid branch of the Kenya Christian lawyers Fellowship.

Prior to Joining the civil society, Ms Mdivo worked with the Kenyan Judiciary for six years, starting as a District Magistrate, rising throught he rank of Sennior resident Magistrate, before resigning from public service.

She currently serves on several boards, and is a Member of the Law society of Kenya.

Julius Kitheka

Julius is the official IAS K lawyer, who has  a long standing relationship with IAS K from the 90s.

He brings wealth of experience and professionalism from his legal background.

Linda Butali

Board Member

Linda worked with IAS together with her husband for about 4, years and during that time, they learnt a lot of IAS Programmes, and the approach of service delivery to the community. She is very grateful to God for the experience.

She is also very grateful to God for the opportunity to serve again, as part of the board.
